The Meaning Carried Within the Collection
The fragrant mushroom, Diamond Willow, grows on dead trees, transforming death into life. Cedar stays green through winter, carrying life through the season of darkness. Together, they represent the continuing bond between the dead and the living as our ancestors continue to nourish, shape and guide us. The Lake Ontario driftwood was shaped by waters resting in a basin carved by ancient glaciers. It represents the wisdom of the land and the ancestral knowledge carried through time. The black candle holds the light of remembrance. The chime gives voice to what travels beyond words. The ceremonial oil combines the wisdom of the mushroom, the enduring cedar and the sharp holding of rosemary. Salt creates a sacred space where we choose to meet. The rune is the heart of the exchange. Each one is selected at random and placed inside your collection as a message from the dead. Use their wisdom, guidance or remembrance offered back to the living who seek to become ancestors as well.
A Ritual To Return To
This is not a one time use kit. The ritual can be used again whenever you wish to honor, remember or communicate with your ancestors. The oil, candle, smudge, salt and journal can be replenished as needed. The driftwood, chime and rune remain part of an ongoing ancestral practice. The collection remembers that our ancestors were human. They lived, loved, struggled, learned and gathered wisdom. Their lives made our lives possible. We honor what they carried to us while remembering that we are still growing and learning. One day, we too will be ancestors. What we choose, heal, learn and love will become part of the wisdom carried forward.
The Leather Case
The black leather case is part of the collection, not disposable packaging. It stores the ritual tools between uses and can continue to hold other meaningful objects. It can also be repurposed as an accessory for cosplay, Renaissance faires, festivals or costuming.
Each collection is assembled by hand. Natural driftwood and randomly selected runes will vary, making every collection singular.
